Privacy Policy

Version 2026-09-22. This policy explains what Main St Singles collects and why.

Information we collect

• Account data: email, password hash, date of birth, country, timezone, and legal consents.
• Profile data: display name, location, gender and pronouns, bio, preferences, and photos.
• Usage data: likes, matches, messages, reports, blocks, and product entitlements.
• Payment metadata from Stripe: customer IDs, payment status, and amounts. We do not store full card numbers.
• Verification outcome and provider reference only. We do not store identity documents or sensitive identity-provider payloads.

How we use it

We use this information to operate accounts, enforce 18+ and US/Canada eligibility, show compatible profiles, deliver messages you are authorized to read, process payments, prevent abuse, and improve the service.

Sharing

Other members see the profile information you publish. Service providers such as hosting, email, object storage, payments, and identity verification process data on our behalf. We disclose information when required by law or to protect people from serious harm.

Retention and deletion

You may pause or delete your account in Settings. Deletion removes public access immediately. We retain limited records as needed for safety investigations, billing, tax, and legal obligations, then erase what we no longer need.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, change your password, pause visibility, or delete your account. Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights. Contact privacy@mainstsingles.com.

Security

We use hashed passwords, HTTP-only session cookies, server-side authorization, and access logs that exclude message bodies, identity documents, and full payment details. No method of transmission is perfectly secure.
